Wesley Lester

–

Malone, New York

Wesley Wayne Lester, born on the 24th of October, 1927 in Burke, NY, was a man whose life was characterized by a deep sense of dedication and love. Wesley was a supportive pillar in the lives of those he cherished, always ready to lend a hand or share a comforting word. As a loyal member of the Westville Fire Department for over four decades and a steadfast attendee of the Presbyterian Church of Westville, his commitment to his community was as profound as his devotion to his family. His work as an Accessories Finisher at Alcoa, Massena, NY for over thirty years, demonstrated his steadfast diligence, a quality he applied to all aspects of his life.

Wesley had a passion for the outdoors that was reflected in his hobbies. He loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood, walking in the woods, snowmobiling, and camping at Osgood Pond at Paul Smiths with his family. This love for nature was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and his ability to find joy in the midst of ordinary moments. As described in the famous verse from Romans 12:18, Wesley lived by the principle, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." This deep-seated belief in peace and unity was a beacon in his life, guiding his actions and relationships.

Wesley married the love of his life Fay Norma Tyler on July 15, 1950 in Keysmills Church on Paul Smith. Together they built a life of love and support for their 5 children, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. We never need to hear a fairy tale of true love because we grew up witnessing one. One of the sweetest, most loving and above all faithful protectors waited to make sure his sweetheart had passed. He joined her this morning October 9, 2026, just 3 weeks later. She brought the fire and he brought the safety from the wind. Over 75 years together. Grand journey you two.

Wesley is survived by his children; Beverly Lester of Lady Lake Fl., Reginald (Valerie) Lester of Constable, Bonnie Trainer of Linden, NC., Ronald (Melody) Lester of Albany, and David (Meredith) Lester of Mars Hill, NC., and his siblings Lawrence, Francis, Richard, and Gail. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Fay, his parents Wayne and Lois, a brother Timothy, and his siblings Herbert, Nellie, Robert, Clarence, Leslie, and Isabel. As we remember Wesley, we celebrate a life well-lived, remembering his loving nature, his supportive presence, and his unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed.

The Celebration of Life for Wesley Lester will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Westville Town Hall in Westville, New York. Memorial contributions in Wesley's honor can be made to the Westville Fire Department 3891c State Highway 37 Constable, NY 12926.
