Theresa B. 'Benjamin' Boucher

Theresa Boucher, 95, of Tupper Lake died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Mercy Healthcare Center where she had resided for the past year. Born November 17, 1921 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Philip and Laura (Mere) Benjamin.

Mrs. Boucher attended local schools and started working at a young age at the Oval Wood Dish. She continued working in retail throughout her adult years starting at Maids Pharmacy, later at Ginsbergs Dept. Store and retiring after several years from Chalmers TV Repair. In October 1939, she married Wilbert J. "Bush" Boucher in Tupper Lake. He predeceased her on November 27, 1999. Theresa enjoyed reading, puzzle books, knitting and crocheting. She especially loved singing and was part of the St. Alphonsus choir for many years. You could also find Theresa at the Tupper Lake Country Club back in the day, as she was an avid golfer.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Boucher of Tupper Lake; three grandchildren, Tammy Boucher, Jim (Claire) Boucher of Tupper Lake and Darcy (Donald) Westover of St. Albans, VT; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Boucher of Ulster Park, NY and Dorran Boucher of Tupper Lake. She was predeceased by her husband, an infant daughter, Phyllis, her son, Steve and daughter-in-law, Diane Boucher, and her brother Van Benjamin.
