Constable, New York
It is with love, respect, and a touch of sorrow that we announce the transition of Steven E. Horner, born on October 11, 1947, in Malone, NY, to his next journey on October 18, 2026. Steven's life was a living example of a quote by Albert Einstein: "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." And Steven did just that; he was always on the move, determined to live life on his terms, with courage, grace, and a robust sense of humor.
Steven, a proud native of Malone and a recent resident of Constable, New York, was a man of many talents. His career as a driver was a testament to his love for the open road, a passion that was only surpassed by his love for his family. Steven's life was enriched by his time spent in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, with his sons Shawn, Michael, and the late Donald. His life was also graced by his significant other, Kathy Aubin, who added a special sparkle to his later years.
Steven was a cherished member of a large and loving family. He is survived by his sons, Shawn (Jeivell) Horner and Michael (Nancy) Horner; his sister, Georiganna Denney; his sister-in-law, Patricia Horner, his grandchildren, Michael (Kristi) Horner, Danny (Emily) Horner, Amanda (Shawn) Arcari, Jhevanise Horner, Morgan (Jon) Jones, Bryson (Sarah) Horner, Blake (Kayla) Horner, and Sarai Horner. His legacy also extends to his great-grandchildren, Freya Jones, Soren Jones, Boden Jones, Tucker Horner, Kayde Horner, Grey Horner, and Logan Horner. Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Helen Horner; his sister, Brenda Foster; his brothers, John and Donnie Horner; and his son, Donald Horner.
As we mourn the loss of Steven, we also celebrate a life lived fully, a life that touched many, and a life that will continue to inspire us. "The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living," Marcus Tullius Cicero once said. So let us remember Steven in our thoughts, our conversations, and our actions.
