Ogdensburg, New York
Hello folks, it's me, Scott Simmons, or as some of you fondly remember, Warpy, Finster Baby, or Fi. I was born on a bright summer's day on August 1, 1964, in Ogdensburg, NY, a town I loved and never left. I spent my days as a laborer at Burger King, a job that I took pride in. It was my own unique way of contributing to my beloved community. I was ambitious, always aiming to serve the best Whopper in town, and funny, because who doesn't need a good laugh during the lunch rush?
My life was also filled with the simple joy of fishing. It was my form of therapy, my escape from the world, and my way to connect with nature. But what truly mattered most to me was my family. They were my rock, my steadfast companions through the ups and downs of life. My compassionate nature, I owe to my parents, Clark and Shirley Simmons, and my sisters Diane and Linda Simmons, and my brother Joseph Simmons, all of whom preceded me in this journey. And now, they are the welcoming faces I look forward to seeing again.
In my lifetime, I was never married, but I found family in many places, most notably in the Seaway Valley Softball Association, where I not only played but proudly managed the teams of Oscars, Club O, Shady Tree, and Coleman’s. My generous spirit shone through in every game, every team huddle, every victory, and defeat. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation." And that's what I did.
Now, I leave behind my loving sisters, Cheryl and Peggy Simmons, and Shirley Atteyeh, and my dear brother Clark Simmons. Remember me as the man who lived life to its fullest, who found joy in the smallest of things, and who loved with all his heart. Remember the laughter, the fish tales, the softball victories, and the love we shared. As I always used to say, I may be gone, but I am not forgotten.
As you remember me, I encourage you to leave your memories and upload photos to my memorial page. Let's celebrate a life lived with passion and love, just like I would have wanted.
