Rose Marie 'Becker' Shaheen Obituary (1932

TUPPER LAKE- Rose Marie Shaheen, 81, of Tupper Lake, passed awaypeacefully at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake onWednesday, October 16, 2013, surrounded by her entire family. She wasborn April 22, 1932 in Tupper Lake, the daughter of Herbert andMargaret (Margavich) Becker. Rose graduated from Holy Ghost Academy in1950 and worked at JJ Newberry's for 10 years. On September 5, 1960,she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Shaheen at St. Alphonsuschurch. Rose devoted her life to her husband and raising their eightchildren. She was a devout Catholic who loved attending mass andpraying the rosary daily. She was a loving woman with a caring heartwho was always doing for others. She was well known for her cookingand baking. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles andplaying lottery scratch off tickets. She loved to spend time with herfamily, especially the many visits she shared with her brother Charles.Rose is survived by her husband of 53 years, eight children; AnecyShaheen, Margaret Gaff and her husband Michael, Tina LaVassaur and herhusband Mark, Eric and his wife Briggette, Carol Shaheen, Michael andhis girlfriend Katie Britt, Rose Peterson and her husband Cecil, DawnWright and her husband Scott. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren,four brothers, Albert and his wife Carol, Charles, Robert, Gene and hiswife Heloise and one sister Margaret Benware. She was pre-deceased byher parents and a sister Dorothy Spinner. Calling hours are scheduledfor Sunday, October 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Stuart-Fortune-Keoughfuneral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will becelebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus church. Memorialdonations may be made to St. Alphonsus church.
