Rolland Orele Beausoleil, 81 of Tupper Lake, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse.
Born Aug. 2, 1930 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Reule and Rose Beausoleil. He graduated from Tupper Lake High and was a veteran of the Korean War serving as private 1st class with the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1954. This allowed him to travel and see the world. He spent several years in North Carolina but returned to Tupper Lake, where he resided most of his life.
Rolland worked in the carpentry/construction field. Living in the Adirondacks was ideal since he enthusiastically enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He belonged to a hunting camp which became a favorite place to spend time with family and friends.
While even in ill health, it was here that his time was enjoyed over this past year. Rolland loved to laugh, his attitude was positive, and he was a generous man. Family was of supreme importance.
He is survived by his brothers: B. George, Maurice and Joseph Beausoleil; sister Yuvone Gardner; his children Randy and Judy Beausoleil of Morganton, N.C., Susan B. Randolph (Brad) of Syracuse, Deanna Singleton (Rick) of Morganton of N.C., Lisa Smith (Tim) of Moorseville, N.C.; grandchildren: Lisa Cox, Joseph Williams, Taylor, Emilee, Brooke, Ethan, and Isabella Randolph, Jonathon Singleton, Jessica Beausoleil, Catherine Woods and Linnea Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Robert.
Rolland had several faithful friends who lived locally, these men were regular visitors whose presence and support provided a stronghold in his life. The family wishes to thank all those involved in supporting Rolland over these past few years. They also want to acknowledge the VA Medical Center of Syracuse for providing excellent healthcare.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Tupper Lake Baptist Chapel, 55 Lake & Mill Street Tupper Lake, NY 12983. A reception will follow at the Beausoleil camp on Charland Road. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
