Robert Mondat

Robert Mondat, Robert "call me BOB", creator of the ewok village in our backyard, fishing with his brother Richard Mondat at lead pond, seeing a sasquatch, loved being outdoors raising a daughter and handling four very unique grandchildren and so much more, started his new life Saturday October 4th 2014 at 8:25pm. Bob has journeyed on to his next adventure, that could possibly be finding that sasquatch he saw or back to Mt Arab where he spent most of his youth with his friends.

He passed away peacefully in his home with his beloved daughter Nikki Mondat by his side. Bob was born in Longuelle, Quebec on October 20th 1952. He was one of four siblings. In 1966 he moved here with his family to Tupper Lake NY. His parents where Gerard and Leona (Sylvein) Mondat. He married Jacqueline Bombard in 1975, and they had a daughter Nikki Lee Mondat in 1976. Bob worked different jobs throughout until he ended up becoming head cook of the Adirondack adult center. He loved his job and loved the people he served. Bob was also an member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2177. In 2000 his health had lead him to becoming disabled to do the job he loved. Due to his health and having to have dialysis, he became close to the many friendly faces of the renal Dialysis unit in AMC. He shared so many good memories and became very close to those whom shared what he was going through. They weren't just patients and nurse's and doctors.. they were his " other " family whom he cared about deeply and shared their laughs an sorrows with him. They helped prolong his life here and made a world of difference.

He is survived by his only daughter Nikki L Mondat, her four children Zachary, Jacob, Randy and Mackenzie DeCook. Also his two siblings Richard Mondat and Louise Miller of Tupper Lake. He was predeceased by both his parents and one brother.

There will be no calling hours -Bobs wishes. Those wishing to make any memorial contributions are asked to consider the renal dialysis unit in Saranac lake.
