Mary v. 'Sweeney' Schneider Obituary (1939

Mary V. Schneider, 76 of Tupper Lake passed away at home on Friday, December 4, 2015. Born March 24, 1939, she was the daughter of Edward and Virginia (Pierson) Sweeney. She married Rudy Schneider on June 29, 1957. Mary had many and varied interests; she had been an EMT with The Town of Wallkill Ambulance Corp. and an instructor with the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad. Mary was a member and Past President of the Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends; Mary enjoyed trying new recipes, improving up on them, and sharing them with everyone. Mary was a school bus driver for 18 Years, first with Marl Brothers in Pine Bush and later with Mid-City Transit in Middletown. Mary and Rudy moved to Tupper Lake in 1982 and owned the Sunset Park Motel until their retirement in 2003. They continued to reside in in Tupper Lake while wintering in Lake Okeechobee, Florida during the winter months.Mary is survived by her husband Rudy, two daughters: Ginny Schouten of Port Jervis and Peg Hillriegel and her husband Jeff of Pine Bush, grandchildren Art Schouten Jr. and his wife Cathy of Port Jervis and Kate Schouten of Middletown and four great grandchildren (Karlee, Rudy, Adrianna, and Maddie Grace. Mary is also survived by her sister June Wittman and brother Michael Sweeney. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. A quaint family service was held Monday December 7th at the St. Alphonsus cemetery in Tupper Lake, New York.
