Marjorie 'LaBelle' Bashant

Marjorie Bashant, 93, of Tupper Lake passed away October 3, 2015 at her home.

Born August 6, 1922 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Albert and Sylvia (LaGrave) LaBelle. Marge married Floyd William Bashant on May 1, 1948. He died November 28, 2001. Marge worked for Adam Palmer law firm and went on to retire from Sunmount DDSO. She was an active member of St. Alphonsus parish, an avid card player enjoying bridge.

She is survived by one son, Floyd Thomas Bashant and Bonnie Grant of Colorado, grandchildren; Jay and his wife Claudia of Arizona, Colin of Oregon and Nicole of Tennessee, one great grandson Ansel. Also, one sister Betty Knickerbocker of Skaneateles, daughter in law Fran, step granddaughter Jill Peterson and step great grandchildren, Miles and Mason Peterson. She was pre-deceased by her husband, one son Keith, three sisters; Leola Lyons, Florence Stone, Doris Maltais and two brothers Leonard and Robert.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 9th at 2 pm at St. Alphonsus church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
