Julie Anne Farina, princess, passed from her kingdom of earth to heaven on August 22, 2024. During her sixty-three years in this realm, she ruled with warm hugs, colorful gestures and lots of spunk. Julie delighted in a wealth of treasured activities: listening to music, dancing, being read to, a good verbal spar, laughter, eating M&Ms, buying flowers, collecting princess dolls, and above all holding court with her favorite people. Julie enjoyed the tales of glorious princesses, and she herself embodied the royal trifecta of a benevolent monarch - she was lovable, loving and loved.
Julie leaves behind a considerable biological family, and perhaps more noteworthy, a family of caregivers through the years whom she loved and whose lives she enhanced beyond measure. Julie's life experience is a beautiful demonstration of the words of Maya Angelou: "Family isn't always blood, it's the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what."
Immense gratitude is extended to those who cared for Julie, throughout her life by those at the Sunmount Developmental Disabilities Service Office - counties of Jefferson, Hamilton and Franklin, and during her recent illness by those at the Adirondack Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.
A graveside service at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00AM. Arrangements are under the care of Frary Funeral Home.
