Judith A. Karleskent

–

Malone, New York

Judith A. Karleskent, passed peacefully on August 31, 2026 at her daughter's home with her family by her side. Born on November 9, 1946, in Malone, NY, to the late Edward O. and Rita N. (Mayhew) Boyer, Judith lived a life marked by her compassionate spirit and courageous heart. Her journey was one filled with love, faith, and a spirited passion for her family and her community. Judith married the love of her life Richard Karleskent on November 2, 1965. Together they raised five children and ran a successful insurance company.

Judith lived a vibrant and creative life. Judith graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and then went on to attend Mater Dei. Her role as an Office Manager at Karleskent Insurance, a business she shared with her beloved late husband, Richard, was not just a job but a testament to her dedication and hard work. Outside of her career, she was an avid gardener and bird watcher, her keen eye for beauty also reflected in her knack for interior design. Her spirited passion for collecting antiques and her penchant for garage sales and thrift stores were well-known, making her a trendsetter always fashion forward. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Her most precious joy in life was raising her five children.

Judith was a beacon of courage and compassion. Her love for her family was boundless, and she was the cherished mother of James R. (Erica) Karleskent of Tennessee, Ellen (Edward) Cyr, Jennifer (James) Cooley, and Aaron (Tammie Thurston) Karleskent all of Malone; grandmother to eleven and great grandmother to 5; and the beloved sister of Charles (Karen), Michael, and Timothy (Brenda) Boyer. She is preceded in death by her adored husband, Richard Karleskent; her dear parents, Edward and Rita Boyer; and her cherished son, Joel Karleskent.

The verse from Psalms 34:18, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." perfectly encapsulates Judith's life. She found strength in her faith, and her memories will continue to inspire and guide those who were privileged to know her.

Services for Judith will be on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness, Malone with Elder Jonathan McAndrews officiating. Burial will take place at the family mausoleum in Owls Head.

We invite friends and family to share memories and photos on Judith's memorial page. Your stories and pictures will help us all to remember the unique qualities and joyful moments that made Judith such a special person to us all. Condolences may be made online at www.fraryfuneralhome.com.
