John J. McGillis

TUPPER LAKE- John J. McGillis, 41, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2015. John was a native of Tupper Lake and a graduate of Tupper Lake High School. He was born on April 8 1973 to Carl and Janice(Turner) McGillis. He was predeceased by his mother, Janice and his son Steven.

He is survived by his son-Cam McGillis, father-Carl and his partner Gertrude Clement, sister-Charmaine and Kenneth LaScala , nephews-Alex Ayotte and Kenny LaScala, sister-Sharon Norman and surviving family and relatives.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and just being in the woods. He also was a huge fan of Boston Bruins and also enjoyed playing in the mens hockey league.

He worked many years as a logger and heavy equipment operator. He was an active board member of the Woodsmen's Association.

Calling hours will be held on March 31, 2015 at Stuart Fortune Keough Funeral home from 4pm-7pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church at 11am on April 1, 2015, reception immediately following at the VFW.
