John Clarence Hull

John Clarence Hull, age 83, of Antwerp, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. Per his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Frary Funeral Home of Gouverneur.

John was born on February 22, 1942, in Theresa, the son of Margurete Hull. He graduated from Indian River Central School in 1959. On June 23, 1961, John married Darlene Gae Smith of Gouverneur. John first went to work at the St. Regis Paper Company in Deferiet, working his way up to Tower Boss over the next 41 years. Upon retirement, John worked at the Emerald Greens Golf Course in Gouverneur.

John is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children John Hull Jr. of FL, Michael (Tammy) Hull of Watertown Center, NY, Michelle Bachini of Antwerp, NY, and Deborah Lamont of Brewerton, NY; his brothers Lloyd Jordan and Tom Jordan Sr.; his sisters Diana Shepard and Linda Dufour; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his mother, his grandparents Clarence and Ellen Hull who raised him, his brother Joseph Jordan, and his brother-in-law Gerry Shepard.
John was a former member of the Antwerp Volunteer Fire Department and the Antwerp Youth Program. He took great pleasure in being outdoors, and his greatest passions included golf, hunting, fishing, trapping, and ice-fishing. He will always be remembered as the "Knifeman" thanks to his remarkable skills carving wild game and fish.
