Jeffrey Patrick 'Jeff' LaMere

Jeff LaMere passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 2nd. He was a son, father, brother and uncle who always had his family first in his mind.

Although his life on earth was short, he had plenty of time to make a lot of friends and enjoy many wild adventures. He was his happiest when the people around him were smiling. He was a skilled craftsman and carpenter who could be found in his workshop with the music up loud, jamming away while he worked. Not only did he pass on his great taste of music to his children, he also shared with them his willingness to have a good time.

He was born on St Patrick's Day 1955 in Tupper Lake to Louis and Patricia LaMere. The first of what would turn out to be 9 children. Jeff graduated Tupper Lake High School in 1973, joined the US Navy 1974 where he served for 3 years. Later in his life he went back to college where he received a degree in Civil Engineering Tech from SUNY Canton in 1995. He made his life in Tupper Lake, raising his children and living simply.

He is survived by his mother Patricia LaMere, 6 brothers, Larry, Tom(Michelle), Chris(Donna), Rick(Colleen), John(Warren) and Paul, 2 sisters, Mary Beth(John) and Amy(Rich) all of which gave him a many nieces and nephews. He also leaves, 4 children Ted and wife Andrea, Kristin, Danielle and Nicholas along with grandson Tyler and his most prized possession his granddaughter Lauren. He is predeceased by his father Louis LaMere.

Jeff will be missed by many, and remembered for his love of family, friends and fun.

Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, September 4th from 4 - 7 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12 noon at St. Alphonsus church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with full military honors.
