Jane Benway

We are gathered here in the memory of Jane Benway, who left us on September 28, 2026. New York. Born Jane Marie Pryor on March 14, 1951, in Tupper Lake, NY, she was fondly known as Janie in the hearts of her loved ones. Janie, a spirited and passionate woman known for her love of crafting and horse riding, spent her life in service to others, dedicating most of her career to healthcare as a DSA at Sunmount DDSO before retiring. Her unwavering spirit and love for life were infectious, as was her love for her horse Shiek, which was only rivaled by her passion for baking, crocheting, ceramics, and crafting.

Janie is survived by her sons, David and William Benway; William’s wife, Lisa Benway; her grandchildren, Anthony and Angela Benway; her siblings, James Pryor, Charles Pryor and his wife Patsy, Lawrence Pryor, and Helen Thibadeau, will remember her fondly. She now joins her beloved parents, Charles and Janice Pryor, brother Roger Pryor, and sister-in-law Diane Pryor in eternal rest.
