Gary Paul Gagnon, 79, of Ogdensburg, New York, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025. Born on September 24, 1946, to the late Norman H. and Theresa (Lesperance) Gagnon, Gary was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many.
A 1964 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy, Gary went on to join the Carpenters Union 277 out of Watertown. Throughout his career, he contributed to numerous construction projects across Jefferson, Lewis, Franklin, Clinton, and St. Lawrence Counties. Among his proudest accomplishments was his work on the Double Span Bridge in Ogdensburg.
Gary was recently recognized for 39 years of sobriety--a milestone that reflected his lifelong dedication to helping others find hope and recovery. In his free time, he loved being surrounded by family, working on puzzles, watching his grandchildren's sporting events and Boy Scout activities, and cheering on his beloved New York Giants. His family will always cherish his warm spirit and the infectious laugh that could light up any room.
He is survived by his children, Joniece (Jamie) Harradine, Stephanie (Mark) Michael, Noele (Dan) Weidner, and one son; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind two nephews, Norman "Joe" Gagnon and Michael Gagnon. Gary was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Norman L. Gagnon.
