Fay Lester

–

Malone, NY

Fay Norma Lester, known to all as Fay, was a spirited force of nature whose love and compassion knew no bounds. Born on October 26, 1931, in the scenic town of Saranac Lake, Fay lived a life enriched with heartfelt laughter, nurturing care, and dedicated service to her community. She passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.

Fay was a beacon of steadfast love and devotion, known for her radiant smile and infectious laughter. She was the heart of her family, having married her soulmate, Wesley Lester, on July 15, 1950, and raising their children, Beverly, Reginald, Bonnie, Ronald, and David with boundless love and patience. Fay was a dedicated member of the Jehovah's Witnesses for 30 years, and her faith was a source of inspiration and strength for her and those around her. This sentiment is beautifully reflected in the Bible verse, Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness."

Fay's life was a testament to her dedication and resilience. After graduating from Saranac Lake Central School in 1950, she embarked on a fulfilling career, first working at the slipper factory, then proving her innate nurturing qualities through private babysitting and housekeeping, before ultimately becoming a home health aide for North Country Home Services until her retirement in 1990. Fay was also a member of the Westville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where her compassionate spirit shone brightly. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and cooking; but her most cherished pastime was making her grandchildren laugh and spending quality time with her family.

Fay leaves behind her loving husband, Wesley, their sons; Reginald (Valerie) of Constable, Ronald (Melody) of Coeysman Hollow, David (Meredith) of Mars Hill, North Carolina and daughters Beverly Lester of Lady Lake Florida and Bonnie Trainer of Linden, North Carolina. She will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren; Josh, Julie, Jeremy, Courtney, Colby, Jessica, Mary, Michelle, Andrew and Seneca, as well as her twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Mary Tyler, her infant son, Timothy and her siblings, Julia, Theron, Jeff, Fanny, Jane and Margaret. Fay’s vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A graveside service was held privately at the Riverside Cemetery in Westville. A memorial talk will be given October 31 at 1 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 18 Donohue Road, Malone NY. A gathering for family and friends will be held after the talk at the Westville Town Hall, 4326 State Route 37, Malone, NY. All are invited.

The family has entrusted care and arrangements to Frary Funeral Home, 530 East Main Street, Malone, 518-483-5750.
