Cynthia Petrie

Cynthia Lou "Cindy" Petrie, age 60, passed away peacefully at her home in Gouverneur on February 16, 2025, with her loved ones by her side. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, 33 Park Street, Gouverneur.

Cindy was born on September 19, 1964, in Canton, the daughter of Herbert and Viginia (Crawn) Haines. She was the mother of James and Justin Petrie and stepmother to Wendy, Patrick, and Shawn Kennedy. She is survived by her brother James and his wife Genice; sisters Donna and her husband Floyed, Heidi and her husband Lonnie, Lisa, Melissa and husband chuck, Francine, and Betty; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Leo and Herbert Haines Jr. and her nephew Danny.

Cindy had a deep love for farming, trapping, and fishing, passions that brought her joy throughout her life.
