Adelard 'Del' Boyer Obituary (1936

Adelard "Del" Boyer, 78, of 36 Prospect St. Tupper Lake, passed away at his home Tuesday, May 5th after a long battle with Metastic Melanoma. He was born October 1, 1936 in Tupper Lake, the son of Adelard and Cecelia (Mere) Boyer. Del was a lifelong resident of Tupper Lake, he loved the Adirondacks and was an avid fisherman. He married the former Shirley Beauchamp on November 29, 1958. He worked for Wilson Gas Company, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 18 years and was Residence Rehabilitation Coordinator with the Tupper lake Neighborhood Rehabilitation Program. He retired from Sunmount DDSO after 18 years. Del was a member of the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Dept for 26 years. He and his wife were fortunate to have spent many winters in Naples, Florida where he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his wife Shirley of 57 years and his seven children; Susan Frechette of Pulaski, John Boyer and his wife Karen of Tupper Lake, James Boyer of Tupper Lake, Lynn Plumley and her husband Jay of Herkimer, Tammy Planty and her husband Raymond of Tupper Lake, Del Patrick Boyer and his wife Karri of Clayton and Marcel Boyer and his wife Nicole of Auburn. He was "Grandpa" and "Papa" to seventeen grandchildren; Melissa Frechette, Bianchi, Alexander and Mitchell Frechette, Emily and Blair Boyer, Zachary and Ethan Boyer, Benjamin, Peter and Erica Plumley, Oliver and Garret Planty, Vincent and Cassandra Boyer, Jillian, Sophia and Marcellina Boyer and two great-grandchildren Arden and Beckett Bianchi. Also surviving are a god daughter Dawn Clement Carmichael, one brother John "Jack" Boyer and a sister Patricia Richer. The family will receive friends from 1 -2pm on Friday, May 8th at Holy Name Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2pm. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
